Fishing magnets
A pot magnet is a type of magnet that has a metal casing around it, which enhances its magnetic strength and allows it to attach to different surfaces. The metal casing also protects the magnet from damage and corrosion. Pot magnets can have various shapes and sizes, and they can also have different attachments, such as hooks, threads, or holes, for different applications. Pot magnets are commonly used for clamping, holding, lifting, or hanging objects made of ferrous materials.
To understand how a pot magnet works, you need to know a bit about magnetic fields. A magnetic field is a region around a magnet where it exerts a force on other magnets or magnetic materials. The magnetic field is strongest at the poles of the magnet, where the field lines are closest together. The magnetic field is weaker in the middle of the magnet, where the field lines are farther apart. The magnetic field also decreases as you move away from the magnet.
A pot magnet has a single pole on its exposed face, where the magnet is not covered by the metal casing. The metal casing acts as the opposite pole, creating a closed magnetic circuit. This means that the magnetic field is concentrated on the face of the pot magnet, and there is little or no magnetic field outside the pot. This makes the pot magnet very effective at clamping to a ferrous surface, as the magnetic force is maximized. The pot magnet also has a higher pull force than a regular magnet of the same size, as the metal casing reduces the air gap between the magnet and the surface. The air gap is the distance between the magnet and the surface, and it affects the strength of the magnetic attraction. The smaller the air gap, the stronger the pull force.
- 75mm diameter and 18mm thickness, Single sided pulling force will up to 550LBS(250KG). Specifically designed for retrieving in river and magnetic fishing.
- Unique design with double sided magnetic force, one magnet provide twice the surface area to catch targets. It is easy assembled with eye bolt screws directly into steel base.
- Great for salvaged of various iron-containning nickel material underwater and good idea for magnet fishing, lifting, hanging, retrieving applications. Have fun to searching items like eyebolt, screws, hooks, fasteners and so on in your warehouse garage or yard.
- Ni+Cu+Ni Triple Layer Coated. The Best Coating Available, which Provides a Shiny and Rust Resistant Coated steel cup provides protection for the magnet and helps to prevent chipping or cracking.
