The Halbach array is a special arrangement of permanent magnets that can enhance or reduce the magnetic field in a specific direction. It is composed of a series of magnets arranged in a specific pattern, usually in a square or rectangular shape.
The arrangement of magnets in the Halbach array is such that the magnetic fields of adjacent magnets are aligned in opposite directions, resulting in a cancellation of the magnetic field in the direction perpendicular to the array. However, in the direction parallel to the array, the magnetic fields of the magnets are added together, resulting in a stronger magnetic field.
